Dr. Devin West is a board certified ophthalmologist focusing on cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Staying up to date on the latest cataract surgery advancements, Dr. West offers advanced vision options with the goal of making his patients less dependent on glasses!
When he is not in the office, Dr. West enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids. Dr. West is also an avid cyclist and rode in the grueling Hotter n Hell 100, a local event that draws in cyclists from all over the world.

Dr. Kelly received his medical degree from Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency at Wilford Hall, United States Air Force Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas while serving in the United States Air Force. Dr. Kelly went on to establish North Texas Ophthalmology Associates in 1982 and has been serving the community for over 40 years.
In addition to his medical work, Dr. Kelly enjoys traveling the world, swimming, and setting an example as a responsible firearms owner. Overall, Dr. Kelly is a highly trained and accomplished ophthalmologist with a dedication to providing quality eye care to his patients!

Dr. Avera received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (formerly the Texas Tech University Medical Center), where he also completed his internship and a three-year ophthalmology residency. He has been a member of North Texas Ophthalmology Associates since 1994 and has been providing high-quality eye care services to the community.
In addition to his medical work, Dr. Avera, is a former Texas State Tennis Champion and still an avid tennis player, as well as an ardent golfer. His passion for these activities reflects his commitment to leading a healthy, active lifestyle. Last but not least Dr. Avera released his first novel Faith Village, in February 2022, to critical acclaim. Overall, Dr. Avera is a highly skilled and experienced ophthalmologist who has been in private practice for 32 years, and is dedicated to providing excellent eye care to his patients!

Robert L. Staples, O.D. is the most recent addition to our team of doctors here at NTOA. Dr. Staples brings years of experience in comprehensive eyecare with special emphasis on contact lenses. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1992 and received a certification in glaucoma treatment. Dr. Staples practiced out of his own private practice as well as spending over a year as a faculty associate at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. In his spare time, Dr. Staples enjoys woodworking, fixing up his Great Grandparents 1949 Pontiac Streamliner, as well as spending time with his family and dogs.
