We want to thank you for considering North Texas Opthalmology Associates for your eye care services and we want you to understand what is involved with a Contact Lens Evaluation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
First, our contact lens prescriptions are only valid for one year. If you wish to renew your contact lens prescription, you will be required to participate in an annual Contact Lens Evaluation.
During this Contact Lens Evaluation, the Doctor will determine which contact is best for your unique eyes. Since your eyes may change from year to year, it is important to re-evaluate your contact lenses, even if you have worn the same type of lenses for several years. This fact is true even if continuing in the same contact so as to avoid discomfort and/or possible damage to your eye.
After your initial fitting, you are advised to return for ONE OR MORE re-evaluation visits so the doctor can verify that the contact lens is the right fit and that the prescription is correct. The Doctor will then finalize your prescription and allow you to order contacts after the Contact Lens Evaluation.
Finally, there is a fee to be evaluated for contact lenses. This fee can range from $100 - $250 and is determined by the Doctor based on the complexity of your prescription and the condition of your eye.
